Our Methodology

Every ZenKalk calculator follows three principles: official sources, testability and transparency.

Parameter sources

All statutory parameters — minimum wage, tax brackets, social security rates — live in a single data store. Every block must carry a link to its official source (Official Gazette, Revenue Administration, Social Security Institution, TurkStat) and its update date; unsourced parameters cannot enter the system. You can inspect them in the "Current parameters" table on each calculator page.

Verification

Each engine ships with fixed expected-value tests covering realistic scenarios and edge cases (bracket crossings, ceilings, zero inputs). Expected values are cross-checked against two independent sources before release.

Calculation principles

  • All monetary arithmetic is integer-based at kuruş precision.
  • Rounding rules are documented per engine (default: half-up to the kuruş).
  • Every result shows its intermediate values in a breakdown.
  • Calculations run in your browser; your inputs never leave your device.

Limits

Our tools are informational; individual exemptions and special arrangements can change outcomes. For official matters, the relevant authority's calculation prevails.

Who builds ZenKalk?

ZenKalk is developed and maintained by Sora Yazılım. The engineering principles described on this page — golden-test verification for every calculation engine, mandatory official sourcing for parameters and automated quality gates before every release — are part of Sora Yazılım's software development standards.
